There is one step in the Securit onboarding process that often surprises new clients. Before we place a security officer at your location, you
meet them first. If the fit isn’t right, we find someone else.
To us, that isn’t a premium service or an added benefit—it is simply the way professional security staffing should work. Yet many Loss Prevention and Security executives are surprised to learn that this level of involvement is far from standard across the contract security industry. The Industry’s Biggest Oversight
For many contract security providers, the process is straightforward:
• Win the contract.
• Fill the position with an available officer.
• Send the officer to the site.
• Hope the client is satisfied.
If the client isn’t happy with the officer’s professionalism, communication style, appearance, or overall fit, they submit a replacement request and wait for the provider to respond. In this model, officer placement becomes little more than a scheduling exercise.
At Securit, we believe it should be much more than that. Security Officers Represent More Than Security. Every officer assigned to your property becomes an extension of your organization. They are often the very first person customers, employees, executives, and guests encounter. Before anyone experiences your products, services, or hospitality, they experience your security team. That first impression matters. Professional appearance, confidence, communication skills, situational awareness, and customer service all influence how people perceive your brand. The right officer builds confidence. The wrong officer can undermine it within moments.
Our Approach
Once a partnership begins, our work doesn’t stop with staffing a schedule. Our leadership team personally recruits and interviews candidates for each assignment based on the client’s environment, culture, and expectations. By this point, we’ve already taken the time to understand your operation—walking your property, meeting with leadership, identifying risks, and learning how your brand should be represented. We select the candidate we believe is the best fit. Then we introduce that officer to you before they ever report for their first shift. This allows you to evaluate whether that individual reflects your company’s standards, professionalism, and culture. If you believe someone else would better represent your organization, we simply continue the search.
No friction/ No uncomfortable conversations/ No settling/ Just the right person for the job/ Why Should Security Be Different?
Consider how every other critical role within your organization is filled. You would never hire a senior manager without an interview. You wouldn’t allow a construction company to assign a project superintendent without meeting them first. You wouldn’t accept a customer-facing executive selected entirely by someone you’ve never met. Yet many organizations continue accepting security officers they’ve never seen until the first day they arrive on-site. That shouldn’t be the standard. Your Brand Deserves Better
Retailers spend countless hours refining every detail of the customer experience—from merchandising and store design to lighting, music, and visual presentation. If so much attention is devoted to selecting the perfect display in the front window, why would the person standing next to that window be selected without your input? Security is more than protection. It is part of your customer experience. It is part of your brand. And it deserves the same level of attention as every other customer-facing function.
Questions Every Security Executive Should Ask when evaluating your current security provider, ask these questions:
• Do we have input on who is assigned to our locations?
• Can we meet our officers before they begin working?
• Does the provider recruit specifically for our environment, or simply fill open shifts?
• Is officer placement treated as a strategic decision or just another scheduling task?
The answers will tell you a great deal about how your provider views your partnership.
Raising the Standard
At Securit, we don’t believe clients should have to accept “whoever is available.” We believe security professionals should be selected with the same care and intention as any other representative of your organization. Because the first person your customers meet shouldn’t just wear your badge. They should represent your brand.
At Securit, protection begins with the right people—before they ever step onto your property.
